COMMUNITY SOCIAL WORKER
FIRST Steps Together at Cape Cod Children’s Place is a community- based, home visiting initiative for parents who have been impacted by substance use (SU) and who have young children. The Community Social Worker (CSW) plays a central role in supporting families, with a focus on promoting positive experiences by promoting parental wellness and recovery from substance use, strengthening parent-child relationships, and enhancing family stability.
This position blends direct service, theoretical knowledge, workforce development, and provider collaboration, as the CSW works closely with families, peer Family Recovery Support Specialists (FRSS), and community partners to ensure coordinated, compassionate, and effective care.
The CSW provides hands-on support, coaching, particularly in complex cases involving SU, the Department of Children and Families (DCF), positive experiences in child development, and systems navigation. The role emphasizes relationship-based, trauma-informed, and strength-based practice.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assure high quality, individualized, strength-based services for participants are maintained through group supervision and training of staff
- Ensure records are accurate, current, and meet all agency and funding source requirements
- Maintain participant caseload including facilitating groups
- Hold certification in Mothering from the Inside Out (or willingness to obtain) and participate in all DPH meetings and trainings
- Facilitate client enrollments and admissions
- Provide training and professional support for FRSS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Hold a Master of Social Work degree and an active Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work license (LICSW) or working toward. LMHC is also acceptable.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of social work experience.
- Knowledge of the drug and alcohol treatment system as well as the local health and social service organizations/systems. Demonstrates a comfort with multiple pathways to recovery from substance use disorder and willingness to embrace a strength based approach that recognizes an individual’s preferences and autonomy as well as the value and uniqueness of each family.
- Sensitivity and understanding to any pathway to recovery, including but not limited to, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), at any time during recovery including pregnancy.
- Hold a Certified Addictions Recovery Coach (CARC) certificate, or willing to become certified.
- Comfortable and experienced with computer systems including Microsoft 365
35 hours/week $30-$40 per hour

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS
CCCP is currently seeking substitute teachers for our Early Learning Center. (Infant / Toddler / Preschool)
A teaching certification from EEC is a plus, but not required.
Candidates will need to submit to a criminal background check, to adhere to all Massachusetts Mandatory Safety in the Workplace Guidelines, and the Minimum Health & Safety Requirements set forth by the Department of Early Education & Care (EEC).
